I am so sorry and sad to learn that Mr. Bihasa passed away recently. He was a very good teacher and I am proud of being one of his students in MCC where we bagged numerous accomplishments in band competitions, like sort of a dynasty for quite some time especially from 1983 to 1986. He was very encouraging and influential in making us all strive harder, be more disciplined, and competitive. I send my condolences to his family, especially Mrs. Bihasa and (by the way, I didn't know that he had 2 children). To Sir Bihasa, rest in peace, I am certain you're with our creator in heaven.

I am one of those young and adventurous high school student from MCC who had the privileged to be mentored by Mr. Lauro Bihasa. I have had the opportunity to meet numerous competent teachers and professors from grade school to law school but the intensity and legacy he left was unique and almost beyond comparison. I learned personally from him the importance of self confidence and the ability to handle enormous pressure at a very critical moment. This was the time when for four years, when I was in high school, we have not lost any band competition.
While he is remembered by many as a great instructor in music, CAT and band, I would always remember him as a person who always inspire young people to believe in themselves.
I salute you Mr. Bihasa for celebrating life !!! Your name would always be remembered through prayers! My deepest sympathy to your family and loved ones !!
