I think it is payback time for loggers to spend money to get people to plant trees na kinalbo nila for how many years. It is a win-win situation coz,it create job and few years later hihitik na naman nang punong kahoy ang mga bundok. To ban logging may help but it's not going to solve the problem. What had been lost have to be replace.
I do not believe that reforestation would solve the problem. How can you replace a 100 year old tree which could hold gallons and gallons of water on its roots.Reforestation is a good thing, but to immediately address the problem what do we do??
One thing i could think of is to clear up the waterways in Baler.Remenber the Castillo ditch in baler? 20 years ago the creek is about 4 to 5 foot deep now the water level is about 5 inches.Think about the difference in water level. This is the price of development as they say.
